Context is always pleased for opportunities to support the education section.
Most recently our Associate, Kim Roberts, was a guest critic at an online design studio presentation last week by Master of Architecture students at Deakin University.
Students were required to present an individual architectural design project that demonstrated their mastery of contextual, functional, technical and theoretical design principles as well as their design process.
A substantial body of work exploring a range of social, urban and aesthetic built environment issues was produced by each student.
Projects Kim assessed as a guest critic included theoretical developments in Ballarat adjacent to the Victorian Heritage Registered St Andrews Uniting Church and in central Hong Kong. Other projects included mixed use residential projects based in India and Coburg, a COVID-19 Hotel quarantine facility in Avalon and projects exploring cross generational learning and a hostel for homeless single mothers in Geelong.
We hope the students enjoyed having Kim share her expertise as much she enjoyed providing it.
