COVID-19

At Context we are responding to the rapidly changing operational environment that COVID-19 has created. We are taking all possible precautions to protect our staff, their families, our clients, and the wider community from COVID-19. We are focussed and committed to supporting our team and providing continuity of service to our clients during this very challenging period.

Business done differently

We remain fully operational,  but it’s business done differently. Staff are practicing good hygiene and staying home. Our Melbourne team and our GML colleagues in Sydney and Canberra are working flexibly or remotely. Our systems and processes are robust, and our people are adaptable and agile.  They are demonstrating extraordinary tenacity and resilience, with a continuing commitment to delivering considered insights and positive impacts for heritage, our clients and communities.

We have reached out to our clients to find out if they are okay.  We are busy learning with them about how we might adapt and plan our project based work to ensure everyone stays safe.  We are responding in practical and creative ways.  Already we have redesigned our community engagement, delivered face to face digital project milestones, and developed new methodologies for site work.  With new delivery systems and clever workarounds we have minimised risks and disruption to our projects.

Aboriginal people have been identified as an at-risk group for the impacts of COVID-19 and we are working with our Aboriginal communities to develop alternative ways to undertake consultations to keep them safe.

Meetings and Travel

We are continuing to attend meetings but have replaced face-to-face meetings with video conferencing and telephone.  We encourage any of our clients to contact us any time to confirm our new arrangements or discuss how we can continue to meet your needs in these challenging times.

Our people will not be travelling interstate or overseas for non-essential business purposes for the next 8 weeks, and we are monitoring and checking travel warnings and advice regularly.  We have already done some site visits and inspections guided by clients and locals communicating with us visually online.

Looking Ahead

We understand that during uncertain times it may seem difficult to look ahead. We would be pleased to have a preliminary discussion with you about future work, so that you are ready to manage your heritage requirements and bounce back when the time comes.

Minimising disruption to our clients and projects is important to us, as is the health and wellbeing of our staff, their families, our client and our communities.  We will continue to monitor official health advice carefully and make any further adjustments as required.  As the situation evolves, we will provide updates.  Please get in touch via email or phone if you would like any further information.
