Promotions at Context and GML 2021
Congratulations to our colleagues who have recently been recognised and promoted! They have demonstrated outstanding commitment to our clients, championed heritage and worked to both advance their knowledge and share it. We are fortunate to have you on our team!
Chairim Byun has been promoted to Senior Consultant at Context. Chairim is a built heritage expert who has managed various heritage studies including the Hoddle Grid heritage review on behalf of the City of Melbourne. Chairim has contributed to the development of new methodologies and streamlined the application of GIS in such work.
Jyoti Somerville, has been promoted to Senior Associate. Jyoti is an architect and built heritage expert who specialises in mid-century modern buildings. She has worked on many significant modern buildings across metropolitan Sydney and beyond. She was one of the primary authors of the award-winning Conservation Management Plan for the iconic Charles and Ray Eames House, Los Angeles, for the Getty Conservation Institute.
Catherine Macarthur has been promoted to Senior Associate. Catherine is a registered architect whose recent work has focussed on heritage advice for major commercial buildings in Sydney over the last year. Catherine was GML’s project lead on the refurbishment and revitalisation of Beneficial House, part of the Brookfield Place development, Sydney. Catherine also worked on the refurbishment of Shell House, which won a National Trust (NSW) Award for Built Heritage earlier this year.
Minna Muhlen-Schulte has been promoted to Associate. Minna is a historian and leads our award-winning Interpretation and Design Team. She has developed our interpretation work in regional and urban NSW and Victoria this year. Recently, Minna and our in-house design team worked with Aboriginal community members to co-design a large scale installation responding to the ancient Parramatta River landscape, incorporating cultural artefacts, history and European archaeology.
Charlotte Feakins has been promoted to Associate. Charlotte works with First Nations people and communities to advance truth-telling, while recognising Indigenous rights and interests and the ongoing impact of colonisation. Since joining GML, she has established the First Nations Speaker Series, formulated community engagement methodologies and sought practical ways to ensure more meaningful outcomes with First Nations people on Country. Outside of GML, Charlotte works in academia as a researcher and lecturer.
Talei Holm has been promoted to Consultant. Talei is an archaeologist with a keen interest in 3D technologies. In the past year she has extended her experience by co-ordinating fieldwork and delivered quality research outcomes across many archaeology projects at varying scales.
